Before You Begin

Gather Your Supplies

📋 Step-by-Step Preparation

1 MEASURE

Measure the Powder

Take 5-6 heaped teaspoons (40g) of Optima Immuna powder and place in a clean cup or mixing container.

💡 Tip: Use a dry, clean spoon to scoop the powder. Level off for accuracy if using a kitchen scale.

2 ADD WATER

Add Room Temperature Water

Pour 160 ml of clean, room temperature water into the cup with the powder.

⚠️ Important: Do NOT use hot water! It may increase thickness and change taste. Use room temperature or slightly cool water only.

3 MIX WELL

Mix Thoroughly

Stir vigorously for 40-50 seconds until the powder is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth with no lumps.

✓ Using Blender: Max 10 seconds

4 CHECK

Check Consistency

Ensure the mixture is smooth and lump-free. It should flow easily through a syringe without clogging.

✓ Ready for feeding: The mixture should have a uniform consistency similar to thin porridge or slightly thickened milk.

💉 Tube Feeding Administration

Step A

Position Patient

Sit upright or elevate head of bed to at least 30-45 degrees during and for 30 minutes after feeding.

Step B

Flush Tube First

Flush the feeding tube with 30ml of clean water before administering the formula.

Step C

Administer Slowly

Give the formula slowly over 15-30 minutes. Do not rush the feeding process.

Step D

Flush Tube After

Flush the tube again with 30-50ml of clean water after feeding is complete.

Step E

Keep Upright

Keep patient in upright position for 30-60 minutes after feeding to prevent reflux.

Step F

Clean Equipment

Clean all syringes and containers with warm water immediately after use.
